The Future is Now

Well, it's been a long while. Traveling, life stuff, no blogging.

Way too much has happened in our Alternate Universe in the last two months that there is no way to catch up on it all, so I'll hit a few highlights and maybe get into my normal groove.

In no particular order, a few topics.

The Reflecting Poo-Poo
Last time we met, the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, after $14 million dollar no-bid "restoration" had begun to fill with algae. What follows is maddening but not at all surprising.

Workers poured hydrogen peroxide from gallon jugs into the 6,750,000-gallon pool in an attempt to stop the growth of algae.

The new paint job had been rushed and hadn't had time to cure. It's been speculated that the hydrogen peroxide interacted with the too-new paint and it began to peel. But other analysis suggests that it was a screwed up installation from the get-go.

Soon, tourists noticed floating pieces of paint and some of them picked up or touched pieces.

Those people, including former Olympic canoer David Hearn, were arrested and charged with vandalism. MAGA talking heads from up and down swore that vandalism caused the pool's failure.

The FBI soon determined that contractor errors, not vandalism, had caused the problem. Jeanine Pinot, recently appointed United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, had a rare sensical thought and dropped all charges against Hearn, but not before his name and his reputation were publicly and nationally drug through the mud.

Her boss got big mad. He began to continue the scapegoat charade by trying to trump up other charges on the poor fellow.

Folks, no one is safe from this regime. No one.

The New 'Do
Dear Leader suddenly appeared with a new nest on top of his head.

The internet went wild. I'll let one of my favorite biting content creators (and Speech-Language Pathologist!) show you.

He hid where, now?
Ok this is concerning.

Dear Leader recently visited Turkey for the annual NATO summit. He flew over in his huge, expensive airplane surveillance machine that had been gifted to him by Qatar and "retrofitted" by way of $400 million of your and my money.

I reluctantly use ChatGPT sometimes. This one was pretty good.

Because the aircraft is not secure enough, it was decided that he would not fly home in that Qatari plane, but would bring in his regular Air Force One plane to take him, his staffers, and a bunch of reporters back.

But because he is universally hated by everyone, and no one more than the Iranians, he got piss-scared that his plane would be targeted by an enemy missile.

Un-fucking-believeably, he decided to board the older Air Force One in front of cameras, go to the back of the plane and to the opposite side, where a catering cart had been hoisted. He wedged himself inside the cart, which took him to another military jet.

With him in the plane (and maybe in the cart? This detail is unclear) were three staffers: Diaper-bag handler Natalie Harp, "Body Man" Walt Nauta (who had been indicted along with 45 in the classified documents case), and loyalist and ne'er-do-well Dan Scavino. Pete Kegstand also joined – hey, someone had to bring the whiskey! – walking through the military jet's regular doors

Everyone else, including Li'l Play Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Stepheratu Miller, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, chief liar Steven Cheung and a group of journalists, were left on Air Force One has a decoy.

The pond scum (apologies to pond scum) told no one, not even the high-level staffers – cabinet members! – that got left behind. He just shrugged and left his patsys on the decoy plane.

What a scummy coward. A captain who takes the one good non-leaky lifeboat as he leaves his ship to sink. What an absolute worm of a person.

Congress is demanding answers.

The internet, once again, came to the rescue. Ya gotta laugh to keep from crying.

The Travesty
While Cheeseburger 1 was hiding in a catering cart, actual warriors have gotten so desperate about the conditions on their ship that they are trying to jump overboard.

The Washington Post reported that sailors on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln have been attempting to jump overboard. At least two have been successful, one with a life vest and one without (both was rescued).

The sailors have been on the ship for a record-breaking 250-plus days, with no time on land. The conditions are deplorable: inadequate hygiene supplies, inadequate food, moldy showers. and broken toilets are among the horrific conditions they are forced to endure.

Secretary of Defense and testosterone junkie Whiskey Pete's assessment? "Fake news.

I hate this shit.

Dr. Fauci
This national hero was drug into the Capitol to be questioned about the Covid crisis response by MAGAt reprobates with sticks up their behinds. Smartly, Fauci pled the Fifth to their questions.

And because he pled the Fifth – which by the way is his Constitutional right – the MAGAts voted to hold him in contempt of Congress.

Pssst... the pandemic was a worldwide crisis. Health leaders around the world were scrambling to protect their citizens by enacting guidelines that were very similar to Fauci's. Dr. Fauci helped save lives in the U.S.

Leave him the Eff alone!!!

Primary Wins
Oooooh lookie here. A progressive was voted by Dems, this one advancing in Michigan's Senate race.

Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, a native (yes he was born in the United States) of Michigan, won the Democratic primary a couple weeks ago. He is a Rhodes scholar who attended Oxford before earning his MD at Columbia University. His career before politics was in public health epidemiology. And he's a progressive. And he's smart. And he's ummmm..... well, friends. He's hot.

Did I mention he is a progressive?

Of course, the Right hates him. Hates his color, hates his name, hates his Medicare for all, hates his public service, hates his burly physique, hate his big brains, hates his loving marriage. And they HATE that he'll be the next Senator from Michigan.

Let's do all we can to support his candidacy.

Also in the upper midwest: Minnesota Dems voted for another progressive to run for Senate. Native American Peggy Flanagan has been serving as Lt. Governor. Also in Minnesota, Sen. Amy Klobachar won the Dem nomination for Governor to replace retiring Tim Walz.

The Incompetence
How about this gem?

Scene: an international meeting of nations, discussing the important topic of AIDS. The U.S. State Department prepares a presentation, including a map of Africa.

Here is the map of Africa.

Every single country is mislabeled.

Can we please stop being the laughingstock of the world?

The Dementia Slide
It continues.

Every public appearance is rife with evidence of his dementia. His speech and language symptoms are accelerating, he's staying up at all hours posting AI shit, he is falling asleep in front of cameras just as frequently, if not more, and he has new locations for his medication infusion bruises. Or is he shaking hands with his forearms?

I have time for just a few examples (traveling again in a couple days!), but there are plenty of others. Plenty!!

Speech, Language, and Memory
His speech has been extra slushy and slurpy lately. It's alarming.

I hate to make you listen to it, but this speech has many instances of very imprecise speech. I believe it's due to his dementia or many mini-strokes. Others have speculated that he has an obturator to close up a cocaine-induced lesion inside his mouth and it's become ill-fitting. In any case, there's something very wrong with this man.

Here's him talking to miners. Check the disordered speech and saliva management (slurping or hard swallowing) at timestamps 3:08-3:33, 4:06, 4:44, 5:39, 5:56-6:08, 7:07 (saliva management), 8:39 (saliva management), 9:40, 11:29 (saliva management), 12:15, 13:19.

There are many more examples of mushy speech, especially on /s/ and sister sound /z/, perhaps the most common sounds in English. His /k/ sound is also imprecise, like at 9:06 in company. It's not the only example; I'm just getting tired of hearing him!

In this speech, he has a semantic paraphasia where he substitutes "prosecute" for probably "execute" when he says "We have a war to prosecute" at timestamp 14:22.

At 12:20: A word-finding glitch when he couldn't remember the word environmentalist so he said "environments people."

Also there's a memory glitch when he didn't remember the fact that he named a council himself. Listen starting at timestamp 2:37.

I just want to point out, too, that whenever he reads his speeches, it is clear that he has never read it before nor, it seems, had ever discussed the topic.

His off-script "riffs" are often about the new information that he just learned while reading his remarks. Take, for example, at timestamp 4:11. He reads a statistic about shuttered mines and says, "I thought they were going to say miners or jobs. It's mines."

They were going to say?

And just a maddening note about his malignant narcissism. He brings up mines in Oklahoma.

"I love Oklahoma."

Me too! Why do you love that wonderful state, sir? For the sweeping vistas of wide plains? For the abundance of corn fields and grazing land, feeding our country? For the rich Native American legacy – will you help to right the wrongs from the past? Or is it for the friendly people, willing to share their storm cellars with a weary traveler heading into a tornado warning (true story, by the way, check my travelblogue Little Sister Adventures)?

No.

Timestamp 6:11. "I love Oklahoma because they have 77 counties. I won all 77 three times, right? You know, oh, he's looking, right? Nobody's, you know, who second was? Ronald Reagan. 56. That's pretty good, right? I like Oklahoma."

I hate Jabba the Gut.

Ooops I think I just made you listen to the whole speech after all.

Sleepy
He took another nap-nap at a presser where he signed an executive order to change childhood vaccine schedules. Despicable behavior, both the sleeping in public and the assault on vaccines.

Here it is:

Bruising
We've all seen his frequent bruising on the backs of his hands, often clumsily covered with makeup. Now he has bruising on his arms, as shown in these photos of him golfing. He's getting some IV medications pretty darn frequently.

Miz Lindsey, Senator Turtle Dead
Southern Belle and Senator Ms Lindsey Graham died suddenly on July 11. In the meantime, his colleague and fellow MAGAt Southerner Sen. Turtle of Kentucky was hospitalized for mysterious reasons from June 14 until August 7, when he was supposedly discharged home for continued rehabilitation. See the timeline here.

Moribund Mitch has released a couple written statements as well as two shady "proof of life" photos, but there have been no live appearances, no video appearances, and no true proof of life that most Americans can believe.

Kentucky Gov. Breshears has demanded information, but it has not been forthcoming.

If Mitch is alive, I believe it is barely so. Congress is in recess now, back in a month, on September 14.

What happens if he doesn't return? The MAGAt hypocrisy will be in full force. If another Senator had had the same fate, Senate Majority Leader McTurtle would've had him removed weeks ago.

The Latest Polls
SCROTUS is falling deeper and deeper underwater in the polls.

From Jezebel:
According to a new Washington Post-Ipsos poll released yesterday, only 15% of Americans strongly approve of Trump’s job as president, down 2% from what was already a record low in April. For context, the first poll conducted after the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol still had 27% of the country strongly approving of Trump, down from a high of 35% the year before. His once “unshakable” base has now dwindled to about 1 in 6 Americans. Nearly half, or 47%, strongly disapprove.

Wrap your mind around that: only 15% of Americans ‘strongly approve’ of Dear Leader. Or in other words, my dear gawd, a full 15% of Americans "strongly approve" of that lying, masochistic, demented, narcissistic, child-molesting grifter rapist?!

Ossoff: 1, Kegsbreath: 0
Sen. Jon Ossoff from Georgia was able to kick Whiskey Pete's ass handily in a recent hearing about military funding for the war with Iran.

Racist Assholes
The GOP is the Party of Racists. Ok, you knew that, but here are a couple new data points.

Nancy Mace is gross. When she's not checking inside your panties in the bathroom, she is being a racist tw@t. This is what she posted to not-Twitter recently.

I hate her.

And these people. The very sound of a middle-eastern sounding name set them to booing.

The Future is Now
Folks, midterm elections are just 80 days away. There are still a handful of primary elections between now and September 15, and then game on. Ready your postcards, your pens, your canvassing shoes, and your phones. Get ready to bring on the Blue Wave that will turn this ship around!

RESIST!

Глупота

"Глупота сьогодні здобула всесвітню повагу, і з неї вже не можна насміхатися. Та й, виглядає, сміятися вже нікому." ~ Guy Debord, Comments on the Society of the Spectacle

Translation from Ukranian: "Stupidity has gained universal respect today, and it can no longer be mocked. And, it looks like, no one laughs anymore."

As I've stated many times before, satire is dead. The situations we face are absurd, nonsensical, and in the truest sense, maddening.

Here is the latest in our American stupidity.

Clowns, Corruption, Conniptions, and Cortex Decay

Cortex Decay

The decay keeps on decaying.

He continues to fall asleep whenever he can. Sitting, standing, at a taxpayer-paid-$10million basketball game for which he closed down Manhattan.

There's Dozy Don, snoozing' away, always right out there in front of cameras.

He has been experiencing increased word finding difficulties.

His pet project, the repainting of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, has been front and center on his mind, and yet he has difficulty recalling the names of the D.C. monuments and the Pool itself. Here is Polichick, reciting his words, showing his word-finding difficulties and the larger scrambled brain. I share her so you don't have to hear his mouth fart sounds.

While he is perseverating on the Reflecting Pool project, he is learning fun facts, such as that the Pool is quite long.

In his latest third-grade show and tell, he had this graphic made up, and he has pulled it out multiple times.

"Our Pool is Bigger than Skyscrapers"

Good job, Donnie, but points off for what the fuck are you talking about?

The Reflecting Pool perseveration shite is a great example of his demented brain. He is reverting back to what he knows best: construction. It has been his life's work, and even though the country is falling apart, inflation is surging, public health crises such as the screwworm are on the horizon, and there is a failing war raging that he started while attached to Bibi's strings, he cannot process any of that stuff. He can process building and "beautifying" and gilding everything in sight.

This is typical of dementia patients. They can and will talk about what has been most important in their life, even when the rest of their thoughts are incoherent. And wow, are this person's thoughts incoherent!

Speaking of the Reflecting Pool. The project is completed, at a cost of $14 million of our money, but the pool is quickly filling with algae. Yay.

And speaking of gilding, he is getting out that gold paintbrush and golding up everything in sight. You are aware of his gaudy-izing the Whitesupremacy House, but may not have noticed the latest outside.

Horse statues.

He is spending $5.1 million of your and my money to regild ....errrr rather, auramax, the 75-year-old horses. Right on! Thank gawd he's not wasting that dough on health insurance or childcare!

Next project:

Believe none of what they say and half of what they do.
He keeps bothering about "beautifying" D.C. and that it was in squalor before he rolled into town. And then he does this.

The White Trashing of America

Every aspect of that stoopid UFC event was disheartening. The egotistical birthday party for a decaying man-baby, the money spent, the disgusting spectacle of men beating each other to pulp, and most of all, the cheapening of the White House.

Shawn McCreesh of the New York Times said it well:
Trump sat ringside beside his wife, Melania Trump, as fighters whaled on one another inches away inside an eight-sided cage wrapped in cryptocurrency advertisements....
It was all such an astonishing sight for so many reasons: The use of the trappings of the White House for violent cage fighting. The corporate sponsorships. The eruptions of casual cruelty. At one point, a fighter took the mic and made a nasty joke about Michelle Obama while standing in front of the house she once lived in with her husband, daughters and mother.

DUMB
He also recently learned that dumb is spelled with a b.

It begs the question, didn't he learn this fact when he was taping "Kick me – I'm dumb" signs to the backs of his schoolmates?

Who's gonna tell him? ⬇️

"Shooting in a moderate manner"
He keeps on making up new definitions of words to suit his needs. Now, apparently, ceasefire means, "shooting in a moderate manner."

Inflation also has entered into the Upside Down.
Guess what, friends? Inflation is very good!

War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength.
I love the inflation!

Clowns
Did you see that clown Whiskey Pete trying to work out with Real Men from the United States Army?

Yikes.

Kinda sorta flies in the face of his "the only real man is a big muscle man" philosophy, don't it?

The clown Greg Bovino has floated running for president. What alternate universe does he live in? If he drags us into that universe, the good lordt help us all.

The enabling clown Dr. bOZo made light of TRUMP's numerous trips to Walter Reed as "he likes it."

Remember the clown (called so by his very own boss, btw) Marco Rubio, who has been shaking in his oversized Florshiems at the very thought of pushing back against the Donfather?

Rubio doubled down on the clown shoes debacle when he was called out by Rep. Sara Jacobs (D - Calif.) on his fear to cross Dear Leader.

Conniptions
OOoooh what a conniption!

Another confession/accusation (shall we call them accufessions? confusations?) when he spat, "You're either crooked or you're stupid."

He blew his top during an interview with NBC's Kristen Welker. She pressed him on the fact that he keeps harping on "rigged elections" without evidence. He couldn't stand that another strong woman was standing up to him, and the toddler did what toddlers do.

Here's the clip. Disgusting behavior.

Earlier this month we were treated to a week's absence of appearances by the Orange Head, but yet he continues to lie that he is in perfect shape and his third "annual" checkup in a year was "extremely good" and his cognitive exam "perfect."

My ass.

Corruption
So much corruption

CBS: another MAGAt mouthpiece

CBS, under murdurous guidance from Beri Weiss, killed the storied news magazine show 60 Minutes, which has kept us informed with hard-hitting journalism for 58 years.

I'll let esteemed veteran 60 Minutes journalist Scott Pelley give you the low-down. This is one of the most chilling things I have ever heard.

Here is more from that interview.

and one more segment:

Find the whole interview with the New York Times's Lulu Garcia-Navarro here

The war with Iran keeps on warring
It's so tiring to hear him say in one breath, "Iran better behave or it will be obliterated," and in the next, "We'll have a deal in a couple days," only to have Iran correct the record, saying, "Nope. We're behaving how we want, and we're not close to a deal."

Check this chyron from CNN:

Late breaking news as I hit "publish." It was announced that there is apparently a true agreement to end the war. Details are sparse but it appears that the Strait of Hormuz will fully open, Iran will discontinue its enrichment program, and they will possibly get their seized assets back.

In other words, back to where we were before the war, with the added bonus of Iran getting their money and the U.S. depleting its stock of missiles.

Inflation keeps inflating
With the war spiking fuel prices, and therefore spiking prices on goods and services that rely on fuel (think everything we buy), the last inflation report showed that prices are up 4.2% over last year.

Ouch.

Headline:

Elon Musk is the planet's first trillionaire
With the recent IPO of SpaceX, Elong got the Most Money on the Planet Award.

It is just gross. One pasty white racist hoarding an ungodly trillion dollars. What is wrong with the world?

It's hard to fathom how much a trillion is. It's a thousand billions, friends. It is a million millions.

According to TheCalculatorSite.com:
  • If Elon Musk started today and spent $1,000,000 each and every single day, it would take him just about 2,740 years to spend it all.
  • If you were able to count one number per second, it would take you 31,688 years to count to one trillion.
  • If Elon Musk took one million of his $100 bills and stacked them up, it would be about 40 inches tall.  $1 billion in $100 bills would stack 40,000 inches (about 0.63 miles high). If Elmo stacked $1 trillion in $100 dollar bills, it would soar for 631 miles. Gee that's even taller than the Reflection Reflecting Lake Pool Pond Pool.

Seriously. How much does one person need? Wouldn't a steady million be quite enough to make a person fairly comfortable through life? Why would anyone need a million millions?

Speaking of dough...
Baby Hands wants to put his face on a $250 bill in commemoration of the United States's 250th birthday.

Nevermind that it takes years and years of design and planning to create new currency.

Here ya go, baby man. Print this out and use it in your pretend play:

ICEtrocities
The larger ICE crisis seems to have melted a bit, but in reality it has simply refocused from citywide atrocities to concentration camp and personal-level atrocities.

For example, the Delaney Detention Center.

Truthfully, my mental health has not wanted me to delve too deeply into the crisis at Delaney, located near Newark, New Jersey.

The conditions there are horrendous and inhumane. The agents running the place are refusing to allow inspections, refusing to allow family visits, refusing to improve conditions.

There have been widespread and growing hunger strikes and violent protests in reaction to the inhumane conditions.

You can read about it from the ACLU, or WHYY, or PBS. I do not want to summarize here.

Congress is trying to get answers, but current Secretary of Homeland Insecurity Markwayneleebillybobroy Mullin has been stonewalling. See him being questioned by Rep. Anatolia Mejia (D - N.J.) and Sen. Chris Murphy (D - N.Y.).

Светлые пятна (Bright Spots)
Judicial Wins
The visa is designed for highly-paid foreign workers who have specialized skills. The court deemed the outrageous fee as an unlawful tax that Congress did not approve. The fee will now return to its usual, which is between $2000 and $5000.

History at National Parks must be restored
The Whitesupremacy House's attempts at whitewashing our complex history will not fly. A federal judge ordered the return of all the exhibits and interpretive signs that supposedly cast the United States in a bad light. These include exhibits about slavery, Japanese interment camps, atrocities against Natives, attempts to erase LGBTQ people, and other pieces of our dark history, all of which important to know as we work toward a more perfect union.

Dumpy's name was removed from the Kennedy Center
U.S. District Court Judge Christopher Cooper ordered The Felon's name be removed, writing, "The Kennedy Center's organic statute makes crystal clear that the Center is to be named for President Kennedy, and it cannot bear any other formal name or public memorial based on the Board's unilateral say-so. Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it."

Boo-yah!

The work was done under cover this past weekend. Workers kept it from public view, but it didn't stop the public from coming out in the middle of the night to watch and celebrate.

Done and done.

Trolls
Someone tried to dead-grass "86 47" in the National Mall's lawn.

The "8" started appearing fairly strongly, and you can make out faint "6," "4," and "7."

The U.S. Park Police is investigating.

Hunter Biden has come out from beneath the bridge to reveal himself as one hilarious troll.

The New York Times is not Ignoring the Epstein Files
A bombshell article was published a week or so ago. It uncovers more about the disturbing actions of rich, powerful men and the attempts to cover up awful acts, including strategy sessions that took place in the White House's Situation Room, a place that has been reserved for war planning.

Read what Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan uncovered here: Inside the White House Freakout Over the Epstein Files (gift article)

It makes you wonder why a dozen high-level regime officials felt the need to maniacally brainstorm responses to news that didn't implicate Dear Innocent Leader (hint: the news would very much implicate Dear Guilty Leader).

Here's more: NYT's summary of all of what we know so far: The Big Questions About Jeffrey Epstein: What The Times Has Learned (gift article)

This is not going away. We will keep pushing and digging and the truth will be set bare. Remember, the entire collection of documents were ordered to be released many months ago, and yet only half of the 6 million files have been released (and heavily redacted, at that).

Positive or Negative? We will see.
SCOTUS is finishing up their work before summer vacation, and they are going to publish their decisions on matters that may work to move the country farther into the bowels of authoritarianism.

The cases include birthright citizenship, trans athletes, mail-in ballots, and much more. Big decisions. Huge decisions.
