The SICK continues

Writing this blog could be a full-time job, but LSR loves her dilly-dally time too. We must persist in our battle!

When last we met, we discussed the SICK administration. Stupidity, Incompetence, Corruption, and Kingship. There's more SICK to slog through.

S is for Stupid ...and also for Sleepy

Clay Bennett

Trump is having a hard time keeping his eyes open in Saudi Arabia pic.twitter.com/t465VZicR6

But mostly S is for Stupid.
I missed this one last post.

Wait. So is Mattel a country or an individual?

He is still going on about the "old fashioned word" groceries. This time, he is explaining groceries to the president of the United Arab Emirates.

Trump to UAE president: "We have a term 'groceries.' It's an old term but it means basically what you're buying, food, it's a pretty accurate term but it's an old fashioned sound but groceries are down."

— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar.com) May 15, 2025 at 9:59 AM
After the grocery bit, he blathers on with whatever words and numbers come flitting through his cavernous skull.

What an embarrASSment.

He also had a breakfast meeting in Qatar. It was the best, most tremendous nonsense ever.

Part of his comments included this string of words:
"When you look at what's happening with Russia and Ukraine the drone is killing tremendous numbers of people. You hide behind a tree and the drone comes down and it circles you with fire. You don't have a chance and the tree comes down also by the way.
It's so intense the— I mean you see these trees being knocked down like... Like they're being sawed down by a top of the line, uhh, timberman like... Like... You know who? Sean... Duffy.

Do you know that Sean Duffy, the head of the Transportation Department, who's working right now on the airports and getting a system because Biden didn't do a thing for four years and Pete Buttigieg was the head and he goes bicycling to work.

He takes a bicycle to work, can you believe it? He's head— He's running the biggest air system in the world and he takes a bicycle to work. What a— And they say he's going to run for president, I don't see it. Who knows right? But I don't see it.

But, uh, when I look at what they've done uh, it's so horrible what they've done and the work they did do they wasted billions of dollars. They tried to hook up air systems to... To copper. They tried to hook up copper to glass and the glass doesn't work with the copper and...

Uh they had 30,000 different contractors doing 30,000 jobs and when they put it all together they spent billions of dollars. It didn't even come close to working and we're going to be giving out a brand new system.

It's very important. We'll have the best system. And we think we know who that system is but we have a lot of bidding.

But we want one check. We want a unified system. We don't have, uh, 5,000 contractors and all different places, some digging ditches and some not doing ditches because they want to go by satellite. Satellite seems to be the way to go. We're going to be giving that out pretty soon.

But what people don't know about Sean cause I mentioned lumberjacks that Sean — you probably didn't know this that uh — I'm not talking about this Sean, this Sean no, not, this is not... This is a different Sean.

Sean Duffy, the head of Transportation. He's a great Sean though, I have to tell you but Sean Duffy was the world champion for five years climbing trees and down, up and down, world champion! So that's what you call a serious a lumberjack.

And he's doing a fantastic job too, a really respected guy and terrific guy and I mentioned the champion because when somebody's the champion — he's the world champion for a long time — he came down, when you come down those trees, coming down at a rapid... He said that started getting your back. You will often break your back! You... You miss... You miss a shot and you're coming down a lot faster than the human body was meant to come down. But he's doing a fantastic job at Transportation. But this has been a very, uh, historic trip."

Okayyyyyyy........

Let's get you to bed, Grampy.

Here's the full video. The hard breathing makes me think he's about to have a cardiac event, but that was the least of it. The word salad above is served starting at 10:02.

And this gem about stealth planes:

His dementia is getting worse. This is not normal!

In Other Stupid.....

Health and Human Service Secretary RFK Jr (words that should have never been allowed to be next to each other) took his grandkids swimming in a creek notorious for sewage pollution. He can do what he wants – go ahead, gulp a gallon, you weirdo – but leave the babies out of it!

He's no stranger to putting little ones in danger. His daughter (the "Kick" in the above not-tweet) reported that when she was a child, he sawed off the head of a beached whale, lashed it to the roof of the car, and when the whale goo started dripping onto his kids, he put plastic bags over their heads.

Gee, I wonder how he ever got a worm inside his brain?

So incredibly stupid.

I is for Incompetent  ...and also for "I don't know."
At least we're in a different stage of Dunning-Kruger?

The Daily Show:

HuffPost:

Jen Psaki at MSNBC:

Air Traffic Controllers in the Literal Dark
Newark went dark again.
For a second time, air traffic controllers experienced another 90-second terror session with no visual or audio connection to airplanes flying in and out of the airport. DO NOT FLY INTO NEWARK AIRPORT!

Denver air traffic controllers had at least 90 seconds without communication to air traffic on Thursday.

What the hell is going on?

Eat the Tariffs!

The Moron-in-Chief responded:

Wait....! I thought China was going to pay for them?

He certainly can't have the Walmart shoppers of America turn against him.

C is for Corruption
Remember when I said we could not get more corrupt when I described Don the Con forcing countries into deals with Musk's Starlink? This week, we've leveled up on the Corruption Assessment Scale.

Qatar wants to make a "gift" of a $400 million plane to King Wannabe. The 🚼 doesn't wike his widdle pwane dat he already has. It uglyyyy!!!

He would rather have this winged golden bordello.

When people went ballistic over this obvious bribe, Baby Hands got all whiney:

He also said, "I could be a stupid person and say, ‘Oh no, we don’t want a free plane.’ We give free things out, we’ll take one too. And, it helps us out because … we have 40-year-old aircraft. So, I think it’s a great gesture from Qatar, I appreciate it very much. I would never be one to turn down that kind of an offer. I could be a stupid person and say, ‘No we don’t want a free, very expensive airplane,’ but I thought it was a great gesture."

First of all, sir, (she says with tears in her eyes), you are a stupid person already. Secondly, ...well, uhhh, there is no 'secondly.' That's all.

What's so wrong with taking a "free thing?"

  • Corruption!
Obviously! It's so blatant that only a moron would say that it's not a bribe.

Oh yeah. MAGA World is full of morons.

  • Security!
My thought, just after, "Just what does Qatar expect in return?" was: "Just how will Qatar bug this aircraft?"

If this plane is accepted, in order for it to be up to security standards, it would have to be torn down to its studs and rebuilt entirely, at a cost of up to $1billion, and it would take years.

  • Boeing has a contract!
Boeing already has a couple new 747 aircraft in the works, as contracted by the American people, to work as Air Force One for the president's use. They have been building safe and secure Air Force One aircraft for as long as there have been Air Force One aircraft.

The planes are a little behind schedule, but they will be the right machine for the job.

  • It's a junker that they can't unload!

The Qatari government has been trying to get rid of this particular airplane for years. It's yuge, uses too much fuel, and no one wants it.

We're not the only one who is pissed about this type of corruption. This two-faced weasel is pissed, too.

By the way, what ever happened to the TikTok ban? It just magically went away without another thought?

The Atlantic:

K is for Kingly

The ICE atrocities
This awful ICE behavior has got to stop. This happened down the road from me. ICE arrested a man in Oxnard at a gas station. His kids, one who was an adult but not able to drive, were left behind in the car.

It's been a tactic of ICE to arrest people leaving their cars. That wasn't the only time it happened in my community. Is it happening in yours?

Ras Baraka, Mayor of Newark New Jersey, was arrested by ICE outside an immigration detention facility. He was there with some Congressional Democrats to inspect the facility and the ICE agents did not like that very much.

WTAF is happening in our country?

ICE Barbie Don't Care
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem responded cooly with questions about separating children – children who are citizens – from their parents in deportation efforts.

She faced Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA) in a House Homeland Security Committee hearing. She didn't blink her cold dead eyes when questioned about the administration's knowledge of the photoshopped "MS-13" tattoos on Adrian Abrego Garcia:

Kristi Noem disgusts me.

James Comey Under Fire
Former FBI Director and unapologetic SCROTUS critic posted (and then deleted) this:

Now the MAGAts are calling for an investigation for his use of death threats.

LSR ponders this for a while sipping from her 2018 hand-thrown mug by an amazing sister resister potter.

Side note: Someone found this gem posted in 2022 by MAGAt Jack Posobiec. Hmmmmm....

Fresh from the Land of Hypocrisy

McSANDwich
Saudi Arabia knows just the way to Dear Leader's heart. Let's hope the direct cholesterol infusion therein does its work.

From FAUX News

Ethnic Cleansing
Lalo Alcarez

While the administration is trying hard to deport millions of brown people, they not only allowed but facilitated the arrival of a bunch of Afrikaners to the country, calling them "refugees."

Why bring in immigrants when they are trying so hard to deport? Cuz they're white! Duh!

On the Legal Front
Legal Battles! There be legal battles!
And in general, democracy is winning. Read about the hundreds of court cases in Bloomberg.

Huh?? SCOTUS Does Right?
SCOTUS ruled that the Aliens Enemy Act may not be invoked to disappear immigrants in a 7-2 ruling. Of course, you may guess that the dissenters were the enablers themselves, Justice Samuel "Flagstaff" Alito and Justice Clarence "Venal" Thomas.

"Kids these days!"
John Roberts laments the lack of respect for the Judicial Branch and cries that the "rule of law" is endangered.

Gee, I wonder how that happened, Chief Justice Make-a-King!

Hands Off New Mexico!
El Pork-Choppo tried to charge immigrants with trespassing charges in New Mexico. He declared that 180 miles of land at the border with Mexico was suddenly and magically an Army base.

From The New York Times

About 400 migrants who were found in that area were arrested and charged with trespassing. Really?

A judge summarily dismissed charges, saying that the migrants had no way of knowing the designation of the land.

The administration is trying to grab up New Mexico lands for their nefarious purposes. The military designation was supposed to be 60 feet, and it now extends three miles. Nobody knows where or how much land has been usurped. Is it off limits to hikers? Hunters? Other recreational users?

Get out of New Mexico, you weasel!

The Resistance
The AltNPS is still leading the charge. And guess what? They now have their T-shirts in stock! Support them and get a cool shirt (or sticker! or magnet!) Go here.

Library of Congress Librarians
After Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden was permanently archived, King Ketchup appointed Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche to serve as the acting agency director.

When two other DOJ officials arrived to the building as part of the takeover, the remaining librarians said "Shhhhhhh!" and barred entry. They rightly want Congressional guidance.

Before this, a Librarian of Congress had not been fired in more than 100 years.

In another entry to the Stupid Files:

Karoline Leavitt clearly does not understand that the Library of Congress is a repository of every book published in the United States and does not check them out to children or anyone else.

Chinese Factory Workers?
Remember the Chinese-made watches the Grifter-in-Chief decided to sell last year? Well some mischievous person performed a small act of resistance:

Congress and Desert Storm Barbie's New Asshole
Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem was excoriated in last week's Congressional hearing.

Enjoy these videos.

I repeat the video of Rep. Eric Swalwell's (CA) questioning here:

Secretary Noem appears to not want to say if the picture of Abrego Garcia’s hand is doctored Swalwell: I have a 7 year old, a 6 year old, and 3 year old. I have a bullshit detector. I’m just asking you a question

— Acyn (@acyn.bsky.social) May 14, 2025 at 8:10 AM

Rep. Delia Ramirez from Indiana used her five minutes to tear Noem a new one.

Rep. Bennie Thompson did not shrink during his turn.

Finally, take a look at Rep. Julie Johnson's (TX) questions.

The Lincoln Project
They've been at it for years, and they continue their brilliant mocking.

A conspiracy theory to consider
I've not wholeheartedly subscribed to this one, but it does make some sense.

Enter the rabbit hole at your own risk. It's all about the "assassination attempt" at the Pennsylvania rally last July.

Lastly, LSR is unapologetic about how much she misses Mr. Obama.

Our SICK government

Stupidity, Incompetence, Corruption, Kingship: yes, we have a SICK administration.

Just this week's SICK:

Stupidity
When it comes to Dear Leader, it's stupidity and dementia. It's hard to tease them apart.

Jack Ohman

The United States Constitution
"Don't you need to uphold the Constitution?"

"I don't know."

It seems so stupid to comment further, but we're in a world of stupid.

Dude, you literally swore an oath TWICE to defend the Constitution. In case you forgot what Article 2, Section 1, Clause 8 of said document reads, you spoke these words as required by law: "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

This is just so ridiculous and stupid. It makes me mad.

David Ramirez

Re-opening Alcatraz
He came up with this winner of an idea this week. Let's reopen Alcatraz! Yes, that prison. The one that perhaps you have ridden a boat to; the one that the National Park Service runs as a tourist attraction.

Yup, that prison that was closed in 1963 because it was too expensive to run. It has been closed twice as long as it operated as a prison.

No heat. No running water. No sanitation. Yes! A perfect prison in the eyes of The Felonious Bastard. The prison that is not fit to house human beings and maybe never was. No wonder he's got a boner for it.

Not only is the idea stupid in itself, but the way he got the idea? From watching TV.

I'll let Stephen Colbert tell you about it.

His announcement of the idea was just another serving of word salad. GAH!

Here's an idea: Open up the doors to one prison that is already operating. Find one unoccupied cell and open that one up. Usher inside this Felon with 34 convictions. Close and lock the door. Forever.

Biden Economy vs. SCROTUS Economy
The word(salad)smith goes again.

Foreign Movie Tariffs
Who wants to watch foreign movies anyway?

I guess he just wants everyone to watch 'murcan masterpieces like Escape from Alcatraz.

I hate that we have to look at every shit pebble that this man throws across the room. Yes, Hollywood is alarmed. No, it won't happen. GAH!

The Cognitive Decline
So much decline!

There have been several news interviews and it is clear his cognitive abilities are heading south. Without his Adderall and his puppet masters propping him up, he is a flailing fish's asshole.

USA Today has a good write-up of many of the latest weird nonsense, memory lapses, and out-to-lunchness.

He doesn't understand economics.
Lawrence O'Donnell at MSNBC went off on his idiocy.

Incompetence
Oh Lord. The Air Disasters and Near-Disasters
There have been so many!

Newark Airport Air Traffic Controllers experienced 90 seconds of terror the other day when their entire system failed. They could not see, hear, or speak to any of the air traffic that was moving in and out of the airport. Can you imagine? A minute and a half of not knowing how many air disasters were going to occur right in front of you?

The infrastructure has been in need of upgrade for decades. Of course, 47 blamed Biden. But did 47 blame 45? The systems were in need of repair then, too.

The air traffic controllers on duty that day were out on trauma leave for a few days. The situation at Newark caused ripple effects for days, with delays and cancellations across the country.

Separately, but within the same week, another Army helicopter flew weirdly across D.C. and caused two near misses near Reagan Airport last weekend.

I don't know about you, but I'm afraid to fly.

Bill Bramhall

Tough beans, 18s
Two – count 'em two – F18 jets fell off of the USS Harry S Truman last week and sunk to the bottom of the ocean. At $67 million a pop.

What the hell is going on?!

Does Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense, know what's going on with these military aircraft? Let's check.

Hmmmm. No word on Navy airplanes and Army helicopters. But we do have him railing against "Dudes in dresses."

What a sicko.

Scrambling to Re-Hire
Again. DOGE paid people to leave an agency and is now scrambling to re-hire them.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is hurting for people to fill 73 newly-opened positions.

Just in time for locust season, too. Come on, people! We are trying to work our way through the Ten Plagues over here in the USA. Git 'er done!

The Pick for Surgeon General is who?
Here's a wellness influencer, with no medical license but with a pretty face, ready to step in as Surgeon General. Did I read that right?

Yup.

Ms. Casey Means had dropped out of her residency and began hawking alternative medicine. She has no medical license currently. She is supremely unqualified in the normal sense of the word, but fits right in to the Circus Fun House that we are living in.

The Meeting with the Newly-elected Canada PM, Mark Carney
It was weird.

Here's the whole presser:

What I love is the question to Carney afterwards.

Reporter: I was watching your face during the meeting.. what was going through your mind when the President talked about erasing the border.. Carney: I’m glad that you couldn’t tell what was going through my mind Reporter: Oh I could

More Signal Shit?!
There are more security concerns than the two Signal chats that were reported. We know now there were at least 12 Signal chats, and a German newspaper reported that top officials' passwords were leaked to the web, including those of Tulsi Gabbards, Pete Hegseth, and sacrificial lamb Mike Waltz.

Another Incompetent Pick
Seriously? The weird and drunk-acting and maybe drunk-being FAUX News loony talking head Jeanine Pirro for U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C?

Lordt help us.

Randy Rainbow!
He sings "Incompetent!"
(I really hate that RR puts a long ad in the middle..... see if you can skip over it)

FEMA Leader is Out
This morning, acting FEMA administrator Cameron Hamilton was let go and replaced, a day after he testified to Congress, saying, "I do not believe it is in the best interest of the American people to eliminate the Federal Emergency Management Agency."

He's gotta go! He is reasonable and smart. Project 2025 calls for destruction. We must not let disaster relief stand! We've got a Plague of Hail to run!

Corruption
The Pledges to Starlink
What do Lesotho, India, Somalia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Vietnam have in common? They are all being pressured to buy Starlink systems (remember, Elon Musk owns Starlink) as a part of tariff "negotiations."

Can we get any more corrupt?  No 👏🏻 we 👏🏻 can 👏🏻 not 👏🏻

The Felon's Reign of Debauchery

So, the Drumpf family owns a crypto company. It is run by djt's rakehell sons, Sniffles and Gummy. Drumpf business entities own 60% of the crypto assets. Countries such as Abu Dhabi are falling over themselves to get in on the action to the tune of a $2 billion investment.

This is separate from the other crooked crypto scheme, the $TRUMP meme coin, which is being marketed at private dinners at a certain reprobate president's Virginia golf club. Sales of this coin netted at least $300 million in sales fees.

You guys. This is so wrong I am out of descriptors for "corrupt."

Judges' Families Under Attack
The good news: judges have been applying the rule of law and ruling against King Minus and his odious actions. The bad news: his minions have been threatening the judges, and their families, with violence.

It's not the anonymous whack-jobs out there on the internet. It's people who you know: Laura Loomer, for example, has published photos of family members and posted hateful messages.

Elon Musk used the power of not-Twitter to amplify Loomer's messages. Anonymous whack-jobs then take up the mantle and intimidate and threaten. One of those whack-jobs, somewhere, some day, will take it too far.

EMPTY GEE
Look at this corrupt member of Congress, MTG, trying to fool the American people while smearing a witness. Thank you, Rep. Melanie Stansbury from the great state of New Mexico, for calling her out with a photo bomb.

Kingship
Proposed Immigration Flights to Libya
Libya!? Fuck that shit.

Immigrants were loaded onto buses and sat on the tarmac for hours, where a military plane headed for Libya was waiting. Luckily, a federal judge nixed the idea and said it would violate a court order that forbids deporting non-citizens to any country that is not their home country.

GAH! Can we please just stop?

Two Dolls and Five Pencils
You saw this shit.

....and you better be happy about it, baby girl. <shudder>

I'm all for reducing consumerism. We collectively consume – and throw away – too much shit. I frequently preach what I practice: I reduce, reuse, and recycle. It's my choice, and I'll urge, but can't compel, others. I'm not perfect; I have been known to sometimes indulge in buying cheap shit for cheap thrills.

When it comes from this guy though....
I think Baron is over his quota for toy cars. Either a gold limo or a black one, kid. You can't have both!
.....it's not to convince you that frugality is a virtue, it's to convince you that his destruction of our economy and global trade is a tremendous thing.

The hypocrisy is breathtaking.

Military Parade Plans
This is the most king shit of all. He wants to have a military parade to honor him on his birthday, which sadly and ironically falls on the U.S. Army's 250th birthday and also Flag Day, June 14.

As he is telling children that they can have two dolls and five pencils and be happy about it, dammit, he wants We the People to throw him a parade with a possible price tag of $118 million dollars.

Fuck that shit.

We will gather in the streets to protest that crock of doo-doo. It shall be known as No Kings Day.

Go to Indivisible.com and find your local demonstration.

Suspending Habeas Corpus?!

Stephen "Himmler" Miller wants to suspend Habeas corpus. TRUMP himself hasn't said anything; he probably doesn't know what it's all about.

This is really disturbing. It is one of the most sacrosanct of legal rights; it is a way to challenge unlawful detentions. And boy oh boy do we have unlawful detentions.

The only time habeas corpus can be suspended is in time of invasion. Again, these rat-face jerks want to paint our immigration situation as an "invasion." So gross.

The Hate for the Pope
A new Pope was elected, an American. Cardinal Robert Prevost from Chicago was elected yesterday, becoming Leo XIV.

It didn't take long to come out that he has criticized 47 and JD Vance and MAGA in general.

Goddammit! He doesn't espouse 'murcan (MAGAt) ideals. He teaches the true word of Jesus, for chrissakes! We can't have that!

Awww, Laura. Did someone hurt your fascism feelings?

Thanks for the meme fodder, Double L.

If espousing love, kindness, and inclusion weren't enough for the MAGAts to hate Pope Leo, there's a new-found reason. It has come to light that he has Black heritage. His maternal great-grandparents were Creole. From the melting pot of America to Vatican City, Leo is a Pope for all people. It follows that MAGA despises him.

The Positives
The Texas Wins
The May 3 Texas elections handed some stunning losses to the MAGAverse. Read about all the wins that the Left had. The tide is turning, folks.

The North Carolina Win
After six months, the Repug contender for a state Supreme Court spot finally conceded in North Carolina. It was a contentious election, with Dem Allison Riggs ekeing out a less-than-800-vote win out of more than 8 million votes cast last November. A federal judge finally declared the winner and the Republican officially, unhappily, conceded.

The Letter to Harvard
Secretary of UnEducation and child molester apologist Linda McMahon wrote a letter to Harvard. They sent it back with corrections.

I could not love this more.

Ed Martin's Nomination Pulled
This idiot defended January 6 defendants and was up for the D.C. District Attorney position. There was bi-partisan criticism of the choice, and 47 finally pulled the nomination.

Of course, now we need to deal with incompetent Jeanine Pirro, but it shows: Pressure can work!

Alabama has to Redraw Voting Maps
A three-member panel of federal judges (two appointed by 45) found that Alabama's voting map violated the Civil Rights Act and the 14th Amendment and it is not valid for future elections. Yip!

Ann Telnaes wins Pulitzer
One of my favorite political cartoonists, Ms. Telnaes's work has graced these pages often. She won the Pulitzer Prize for Illustrated Reporting and Commentary last week. This, after she won the "Go Get 'Em" prize from the American public and her fellow editorial cartoonists when she resigned from the Washington Post in protest after the killing of her piece that criticized WaPo's owner, among other oligarchs.

To remind you and to shine a light on her piece, here it is again:

Canada and Australia are Going the Left Way
Elections this month in these two countries swung left. It is widely seen as a referendum on Donald McFondle.

Student Activist Released from Prison
Tufts University doctoral student Rumeysa Ozturk, from Turkey, had been held in a Louisiana prison for over six weeks after she co-authored an opinion piece in the university's student newspaper. The piece criticized Israel's actions in Gaza, and being a pro-Palestinian piece, she soundly deserved arrest in this Upside Down we're living in, right?

A judge disagreed, finding that she was arrested in violation of her First Amendment rights (duh) and ordered her released.

Breaking: A Judge Ordered Mass Firings to Stop
Just as this was going to publication, it was reported that a judge says the mass firings across federal agencies are illegal without Congress's approval and ordered a two-week pause.

Don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened.
Actually, no. Fuck it. Cry because it's over.

From the FAFO Files
These American farmers fucked around. Now they are finding out:

Here's a few other folks who are hurting:

Action
  • Keep up the pressure on your Members of Congress. Write to them, or call!
  • Write postcards! There are upcoming elections this month. Postcards to Voters has several campaigns. Can you write 10 postcards to help?

Meme Catch-Up
I regret missing some memes in my recent meme dump, specifically many from Sister Resister BobBIE! Here are a bunch.
